actiTube filters are an elegant replacement for conventional cigarette filters or custom-made cardboard filter tips. The activated carbon filters a good portion of harmful condensates from the smoke, and the smoke becomes pleasantly mild. The filters are designed for both cigarettes and special pipes and are suitable for multiple use. Another advantage when using them with pipes is that they get less dirty and therefore require less cleaning. At the same time, it means less throat irritarion and no more unpleasant feeling in your lungs when smoking. Many smokers who use them regularly also find that the smoke is sweeter and tastes better.

In addition to the pipe filters by actiTube, there are also attachments and bowls for bongs, and even an series of pure pipes which are perfectly adapted for use with the company's own activated carbon filters.

Can actiTubes be reused? If so, how often?

The question of reusability can definitely be answered with "yes". The large amount of carbon (much more than with comparable pipe filters) makes it possible to reuse the filter several times. Before it is finally burnt up, ineffective or simply clogged, an actiTube filter can be reused up to ten times, depending on consumption and smoking habits. However, the filter effect is always slightly worse.

Generally speaking, the filters become useless as soon as are completely clogged and no more smoke can pass through them. However, the exact time at which this happens depends on various factors such as smoking style, type and quantity of tobacco and, last but not least, the frequency of puffs. For average smokers, however, 4-6 applications of a single filter should be possible.

Why are those filters so large and bulky?

Since actiTubes are based on the filters designed for tobacco pipes and are can actually be used with pipes just fine, they are a little longer and thicker than most normal cigarette filters. They have not been reduced in size since then - this is simply because they should continue to fit into the standardized inserts of the mouthpieces of tobacco pipes. If you want to roll thinner cigarettes, you will find the solution in the following paragraph:
It's the slim version of the actiTube that gives fans of thinner home-rolled cigarettes the perfect and reusable filter for everyday use. However, since they are somewhat longer than conventional rolling filters, we recommend using long papers or an extension paper to keep the amount of tobacco halfway equal.

What's the correct direction of the filters, which way around do you use them?

If you use actiTube filters for the first time, you may notice some special features. A frequently asked question is: "How do I use those?". To use the filters correctly, it doesn't matter whether you want to smoke pipe, blunt or cigarette - the ceramic cap must always face the burning end. In general, activated carbon filters for pipes usually only have a ceramic part on one side, which represents the inlet for the smoke. On the other side there is no filter attachment, but only a piece of plastic, paper or cardboard - depending on the version. If you roll it yourself, you have to resist the temptation to put the ceramic piece into your mouth - otherwise you will accidentally burn the cardboard part of the filter.

Simply put: the activated carbon filter must not catch fire or start smoking, which is why the side with the ceramic surface must always be facing firewards. The plastic or cardboard end is always the mouthpiece at the same time. This also applies to use in pipes!
