Rolling Papers

If you want to roll your own, you need the right cigarette paper. Here you can find OCB, RAW, RizLa, Elements, Smoking and other rolling paper brands in different lengths, widths and materials - certainly as important as the lighter or the tobacco.

Basically, one can say that cigarette paper is primarily offered in two different lengths, each of which can have different widths. Regular paper has a length of about 70mm for ordinary cigarettes. Long and king size papers reach up to 110mm and are much longer.

This information is important - apart from the question of how much you actually want to smoke - if you want to use a rolling machine. For King Size, you need one which is not only longer but also suitable for wider papers. And if you don't want to commit yourself to a certain length and prefer to smoke individually, you will usually opt for so-called roll: up to 5 metres of rolling paper in one piece, for unwinding and ripping off at your desired length.

Papers made of wood fibre or cellulose, which have been in use for decades, are no longer quite as popular as they used to be. In the meantime, a large number of alternative materials with different burning and taste-related properties are on the market.

The choice of paper used as the basis for this is now as wide as the individuality of the home-rolled goods. Papers with fruity aromas are just as common as transparent cigarette paper, or even a combination of both. Colourful, transparent papers have not been accepted very well, the ecological and health concerns may have been too great - this is also reflected in the trend towards unbleached, chlorine-free papers, which are often made of ecologically compatible materials such as hemp and are characterised by their strong, naturally brown colouring.
