Glass thickness - Wall thickness of bongs

Categories Glass thickness - Wall thickness of bongs

But as is the case with strange theories, they surprisingly often correspond to reality: spying on secret services and breaking glass! The only way to avoid this is to be careful, to respect the device and to have as thick a glass as possible that can withstand one or two blows. So Lemmy von Motörhead (or whoever else created this universe) has determined that the following standard thicknesses have to be inerasable guidelines in the subculture of bong smoking from now on:
  • 3mm
  • 5mm
  • 7mm
  • 9mm
But what now looks so great after an eternally valid regulation, can unfortunately easily (de-)deceive. So this information is unfortunately often only rough guide values and not to be understood as exact. This starts with the fact that the specification "3mm wall thickness" can actually mean 2.8mm or 3.2mm. Unfortunately, it is not possible to determine this exactly in the manufacturing process. It is also important to consider that the indicated thickness is only applied to the straight parts such as neck, cylinder and foot. Everything that has curves (e.g. ice fans) is sometimes much smaller and therefore more susceptible to breakage. But even if you use a 9mm compact bong like the Erlkönig here: Caution and respectful handling remains the top priority of the bong sport. Why? Because glass breaks sometimes...
